Soldier Information Cards - World War One
Transcription
Chalk, John Sergeant. Enlisted November 8, 1916 with 111th Battalion of South Waterloo and transferred to 75th Battalion. Baptist. Born at Angmering, Sussex, England on May 14, 1880 and married Kate Penfold of Ferring, Sussex, England on Feb 28, 1907. He has three sons. He died of Broncho-pneumonia on Sept.6.1917 near Lens France and was buried at Bruay. His widow and family live at 40 Stanley St., Galt, Ontario. He was one year and ten months in the service of which the last seven months was in France. He was wounded in the right hand on April 2, 1917. John Frank Chalk, 40 Stanley st., Galt, Ontario
