Fred, George and Jack Ball
Fred, George and Jack, sons of Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Ball of Ayr, are all on
active service. Fred is at Toronto with the army. George is with the RCAF on the
east coast and Jack, who is also with the RCAF as a sergant, is overseas. The
brothers attended Ayr public and continuation school, George also attending
Galt Collegiate. Fred was employed by Jones and Ventham, Ayr, before enlisting.
George was on the staff of the Sifton funeral home at St. Thomas, and Jack
was working at Zehr's general store in Ayr. They are members of Knox United
church at Ayr.

In an account printed recently of Fred, George and Jack Ball, sons of
Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Ball of Ayr, it was stated that AC.2 Jack Ball was overseas
and that Sgt. George Ball was serving on Canada's east coast. Actually it is
George who is on the east coast.

AYR, Nov. 22 -- Flt. Sgt. George Ball, R.C.A.F., son of Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Ball,
Swan St., was slightly wounded directly below the elbow on his last flight over
Germany and is now confined to a hospital in England.
This word came to Mr. and Mrs. Ball by letter this week. Following release
from the hospital, George expects to go on furlough.
Enlisting in May 1941, he received his wings at Crumlin, and went overseas
in August 1943.

DOUGLAS HARRIE
L.A.C. Douglas Harrie is serving with the R.C.A.F. as an air frame mechanic. His wife resides in Hespeler and he is a son of Walter Barrie of Bright and the late Mrs. Harrie. L.A.C. Harrie was born in Ayr, Oct. 3, 1921, and he went to school in Ayr. His religious denomination is Presbyterian.

Sapper Robert Burchill is overseas with the Royal Canadian Engineers. His wife and daughter live at 1 York Place and he is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Burchill, 28 James Street. Sapper Burchill was born at Ayr, Jan 28, 1912. He went to school in Galt and, before enlisting, he was a contractor with George Burchill & Sons. His father served with the 71st Battalion in the First Great War. Sapper Burchillls religious denomination is Anglican
