Lance-Cpl. Clem Alexander was assigned to D company after enlisting on June 19th. He was born in Dundee, in Scotland, Oct. 6th, 1911. Educated in Scotland and in Galt. L.-Cpl. Alexander was a textile worker before his enlistment. He has had five years military training with the H.L.I. of C. His wife and three children are living at 21 Pollock Avenue, Galt. Lance-Cpl. Alexander had six near relatives in the last war, a grandfather, father and four uncles serving with the Royal Scots. He is Protestant in faith.

Private Glen Adrian Allen was assigned to D Company of the H.L.I. of C. after enlisting on July 20th of this year. He was born in Thedford on May 22, 1904. He attended school in St. Thomas and worked as a worsted spinner prior to his enlistment. His wife, Mrs. Ruby Allen now lives in Preston. Two uncles, Billie Allen and Roy Barnes served in the Great War. Pte. Allen's religion is Anglican.

Private George Frederick Hassell enlisted on June 23rd for active service. He was born in Galt on Oct. 28, 1914 and attended Central school here. Prior to his enlistment with the H.L.L. of C., Pte. Hassell was an employee of a local shoe factory. Mrs. Margaret Hassell, his wife, now lives at 147 Beverly St. Pte. Hassell is Protestant by religion. He is now attached to D company. He played a lot of softball and hockey when he was in Galt.

His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Hulks resides at 84 Samuelson street in Galt. Prior to his enlistment Pte. Hlks was employed as a shoeworker. Two uncles and his father served with the Queen’s Own Rifles, Toronto, in the last war. Pte. Hulks is Anglican by religion.
