Bowman, Edgar Lieutenant. Enlisted February 1917 with 256th Railway Construction Battalion. Transferred to 10th Battalion. Congregationalist. Born Sept. 29, 1883 in West Montrose and educated at the Public Schools there, at the Kitchener Collegiate Institute and at the University of Toronto. He was discharged May 8, 1919 and is now living at West Montrose. His father is Mr. C.D. Bowman of West Montrose. He served in France nearly two years. Ruth Bowman, West Montrose, Ont.

Lauber, Leo [clipping] 25 Oct 1944 Pte Leo Lauber Pte. Lauber, who worked at the Sunshine-Waterloo plant before enlisting several years ago, is reported wounded and in hospital as a result of action in Belgium on Oct. 16. He had been overseas 1 1/2 years prior to D-day. Pte. Lauber was in the first 30-day basic training group at the former No. 10 Training Centre here. [clipping] 14 Nov 1944 Pte. Leo Lauber, 23, son of Mrs. Caroline Lauber, R.R.1, West Montrose, who was wounded in action in Belgium on Oct. 16, is now reported suffering a "severe bomb fragment wound, cervical fracture right forearm' an official wire states. Musselman, Minerva Lieutenant, Enlisted in December 1916 as a nursing-sister. She was with No.7 Canadian General Hospital, and nursed first in France and later in England. Methodist. Born in Kitchener and educated there. She was discharged in March 1919 and is living with her mother, Mrs. Mary Musselman, in West Montrose. While in service in France the hospital was bombed and nurses had to flee for shelter under trees on a hill, as they saw the hospital in flames. Later on dugouts were provided for the convenience of the nurses. Mary Gingerich, West Montrose, Ontario.
