Akitt, Ernest Joseph Private. Ernest Akitt was born on November 23, 1898 in Melancthon Township, Dufferin County, Ontario. He was the son of Joseph and Mary Akitt of Creemore, Ontario. He enlisted in Kitchener on May 11, 1916 and noted his address as 11 Eby Street, Berlin, Ontario and occupation as bank clerk. He served with the 118th Battalion. Ernest was discharged from service in May 1919.
