Notes
Allemang, Alba Corporal. Alba Allemang was born April 10, 1890 in Bloomingdale, Ontario. He was the son of Christian Allemang and Barbara Shantz. He enlisted with the 71st Battalion in Berlin, Ontario on September 1, 1915 and later transferred to the 118th Battalion. He also served in the 256th Railway Construction Battalion. Allemang served in France and was discharged on March 26, 1919. Allemang married Mary Ellen Stuart on September 8, 1920 in Kitchener, Ontario. At the time of his marriage, Alba was a rubber worker. They raised two sons, Stuart and Raymond. Alba Allemang died on June 1, 1954 at the age of 64. He is buried at Bridgeport Memorial Cemetery, Kitchener, Ontario.

Baird, Alexander Galt Cadet. Enlisted October 2, 1915 at London with 71st Infantry Battalion. He transferred to 10th Canadian Light Trench Mortar Battery for service in France and then for commission in Royal Air Force. Presbyterian. Born at Galt, October 10, 1897 and educated at the Public School and Collegiate Institute of Galt. Unmarried. He was discharged February 6, 1919 and lives in Hespeler with his mother, Mrs. Alex Baird, Drawer M, Hespeler. He served overseas from April 11, 1916 to January 10, 1919. He was wounded at the Somme on November 18, 1916 and at Hill 70 on August 16, 1917. Jean M. Baird, Drawer M, Hespeler, Ontario.

Baldwin, William Charles Private. Private William Charles Baldwin was born in Great Malvern, Worcestershire England July 23, 1890 to Ernest E. and Catherine Baldwin. William immigrated to Canada June 1910 on the ship Corsican with his parents. Their destination was Toronto, Ontario. Once in Canada, William made his way to Galt, Ontario and worked as a labourer. Five years later, William enlisted in Galt with the 71st Battalion. William's attestation papers stated that there was no next of kin and William was still single. The brown haired, blue eyed, 5 ft. 6 1/2 inch tall, 25 year old soldier went off to England to fight for his country.

He enlisted October 5, 1915. He had previously belonged to the Territorials. Born in Ireland. He was employed by the R. Forbes Company, Limited of Hespeler.
