Aylward, A. H. Private. One of four men who left Kitchener on August 4, 1914, being a British reservist. He went through severe fighting and was wounded on one occasion. He won the Mons Star for being in France in 1914, from August 4 to Nov. 23. It is a fighting memorial of the splendid work by the "Contemptible" little army of 100,000 men in the early days of 1914. His home is at 60 Scott St., Kitchener.

Adamos, John Pte. John Adamos May 16, 1945 Pte. John Adamos, who came to Canada with his family in late 1938 from Macedonia, Greece, has been wounded while fighting with the Essex Scottish in Germany. Born in 1928, he is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Dimitro Adamos. He attended school in Greece and in Kitchener. Prior to joining the Canadian Army he was a waiter at the Queen's Restaurant. Pte. Adamos, whose emlistment was in July, 1943, went overseas before Christmas, 1944. Embarking from England, he fought in Belgium and Holland, before continuing to Germany.

Adams, Hugh B. November 1, 1944 Trooper Hugh Adams Listowel, Nov.1.-- Mrs. Hugh B. Adams was notified by casualty headquarters at Ottawa yesterday that her husband, Trooper Hugh B. Adams, who was wounded in action on Aug. 18 while serving with an armored unit in France, is being invalided home. He sustained injuries to his right arm. The 37-year-old soldier was born and raised at Norwood, Ont., and , prior to his enlistment, had been employed for a number of years by the Atlas Construction Co. of Montreal. His wife, whom he married on Aug.9, 1942, at Botwood, Nfld., was formerly Marjorie Felker, of Listowel and Montreal.

Adams, William C. Wm. Adams July 1940 William Charles Adams enlisted with the H.L.I. of C. on June 4, 1940. He was born at Preston Feb. 20, 1920 and was a shoeworker before joining up. His father, C.R. Adams, served in the 34th battalion in the last war and two uncles and his grandfather also saw active service. One uncle, Wm. Adams, was killed in action and the other uncle, Geoerge Adams is now in the Home Guard in Windsor. He holds the rank of acting sergeat. His religion is Anglican. He had been with the regiment a year before it went on active service.

Addis, Harold Harold Addis Galt Pte. Harold Addis, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Addis, 105 Cedar street, is overseas with a Western Ontario regiment. He enlisted in January, 1941. Pte. Addis was born in Preston on Nov. 15, 1922 and received schooling at Preston public school and the Galt Collegiate. Before enlisting he was employed at the Scott Shoe Co. plant. An uncle, Pte. John Hughes, was killed in action in the First Great War. Pte. Addis' religious denomination is Anglican. He was active in Scouting for a number of years in Galt and was a leader for one the local troops.

Aitchison, Edward FLT. LIEUT. E.G. AITCHISON April 5, 1945 ELORA, April 5.-- Word has been received here by Mr. Mrs. Jack Aitchison that their son, Flt. Lieut. Edward Aitchison, is missing following an air operation over enemy territory on March 31. A fighter plane pilot, he was on leave last year following a tour of operations in the eastern theatre of war. He has been on active service for more than three years.
