Private Frederick Brett enlisted on the 23rd of June and was assigned to D company. He was born in Waterloo on Feb. 8th, 1913, and attended school in Galt. Prior to his enlistment he was a machine operator. He and Mrs. F. Brett have one son. Pte. Brett is a member of the Anglican church.

Prior to his enlistment he was employed at the Galt Wood Heel Co. Private Chatters attended the Presbyterian church His next-of-kin is an uncle, Herman Ableson.

Private James Francis McGrath was born in Preston on April 27, 1921. He attended the Preston separate school. Prior to his enlisting June 18 with the 1st Battalion he was employed as a shoemaker. He is now with D Company. His mother, Mrs. Mary McGrath lives at 398 Hespeler St., Preston. Both Pte. McGrath's father and uncle served in the Great War. His religion is Roman Catholic.

PRESTON, Oct 12. - Pte. J.F. McGrath, reported wounded in action for a second time, received a bomb fragment wound in the left thumb, his mother has been officially advised. Mrs. H. McCurdy has also learned that wounds sustained by her husband, Pte. Harvey Thompson McCurdy, are shell fragment wounds of left armpit and left gluteal region.

Private John Donald McLelland was assigned to D company following his enlistment on June 22nd. He was born in Ayr Ont., on Jan. 31, 1905, and attended school in Galt. His wife, Mrs. Doris McLelland,, and one child are now living in Ayr. Before enlisting he was employed at the Canadian General Rubber Co. Pte. McLelland had three years previous military training with the 5th U.S. Cavalry . His father served with the 34th Battery overseas in the last war. Pte. McLelland’s religion is Presbyterian.
