Anderson, T.R. See also Aksim, Victor E. [clipping] 5 Oct 1940 T.R. Anderson [image] Corporal T.R. (Shorty) Anderson enlisted on July 25, 1940, with the 24th Field Ambulance, R.C.A.M.C. Before going on active service he was a baker at Polly Perkins. Cpl. Anderson was born at Donegal, Ont., and he received his schooling in Atwood. He is stationed at Listowel, Bennett Barracks, where he is the first cook in the Officers' Mess. Cpl. Anderson lived in Galt a couple of years and is well known in Preston. He goes by the nickname of "Shorty." His wife and four daughters are living at 19 Kerr street. Photo Contributed.

Ashcroft, William [clipping] 12 October 1944 PTE. WILLIAM ASHCROFT Pte. Ashcroft suffered a triple fracture of the jaw when he was hit by a sniper in Italy on Sept. 18. He is recovering in a hospital somewhere in Italy. Born in Guelph, Pte. Ashcroft attended school in the city, and is well known here. His brother, Pte. Jack, also in the canadian Army, was born in Kitchener. Their father, Pte. Arthur Ashcroft, is stationed at Kingston with the Ordnance Corps. Pte. William Ashcroft enlisted with the 7th Field Ambulance early in 1941, and went overseas the latter part of that year, transferring to the 48th Highlanders, with whom he was fighting when he was wounded.

Bauman, Reginald Photo included Private Reg. Bauman March 21, 1945 Three news articles included PTE. Reginald Bauman Mar 20, 1945 Twenty-year-old Pte. Reginald Bauman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Bauman, 104 King St. N., Waterloo, was wounded in action in Germany on March 8, his parents have been notified. Enlisting with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps in September, 1943, he went overseas in June, 1944, and served in a hospital. With little training, he has been fighting with the infantry in Germany after a few weeks in Belgiu,. Pte. Bauman served with the reserve medical unit he was old enough for active service. Most of his training was recieved at Ipperwash and Camp Borden. He was educated in Waterloo and was employed at the Superior Box Co. before enlisting. PTE. Reginald Bauman Mar 23, 1945 A message contradicting an earlier telegram reporting the wounding of Pte. Reginal Bauman, 20-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Bauman, 104 King St. N., Waterloo, has been received by his parents. Pte. Bauman was stated to have been wounded in action in Germany on March 8. The second notification stated the message was in error, and expressed regrets at having caused unnecessary worry to the family. PTE. R. J. Bauman Mar 25, 1945 Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Bauman, 104 King St. N., Waterloo, have been informed that their son, Pte. R. J. Bauman, 21, wounded March 8, is suffering from a perforated ear drum. At the time Pte. Bauman was fighting with an infantry unity in Germany.
