Boyer, Keith [clipping] 8 Nov 1943 Keith Boyer War Casualty Sergeant Killed in Motorcycle Accident; Believed in Britain Another name was added to the lengthening Twin City casualty list yesterday when Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Boyer, 2 Mary Street, Kitchener, received a message that their son, Sgt. Keith Boyer, died overseas from injuries received in a motorcycle accident recently. This brings the total to 75. Two telegrams from the director of information at Ottawa reached the Boyer family over the weekend. The first came Saturday afternoon announcing that Sgt. Boyer was in a critical condition and intimating neck injuries had been sustained. Jaw Fractured The second arrived yesterday informing the bereaved parents their son had passed on. This communication stated death resulted from a fractured jaw and possible fractured skull. "Keith was very interested in his work," said the saddened father today. "He joined up with the attitude there is a job to do so we might as well jump in and get it over with." The oldest child in a family of four, Sgt. Boyer was born at Dunnville Feb. 8, 1921. Two years later he came with his parents to Waterloo where his boyhood days were spent. Keith attended Elizabeth Ziegler School and K-W Collegiate. He later was employed with his father at the Boyer Lumber Co. in Waterloo. In June 1941, this Twin City youth enlisted with the Signal Corps at Brantford. He trained at Toronto and Debert, N.S., before going overseas one year later. 2 Brothers Survive Although neither telegram carried any information as to where the accident happened, it is believed to have been in England. His last letter, received by his parents nearly two months ago, was written in the British Isles. Besides his parents, Sgt. Boyer is survived by his two brothers, John and Robert, and one sister, Jean, all at home.
