A black and white real photo postcard image of an unidentified soldier standing on the steps of the statue of Kaiser Wilhelm I, which had been vandalized during the 15 February 1916 riots in Berlin (now Kitchener), Ontario. A home on David Street is in the background.
The top portion of the monument can be seen lying on the ground in the lower left corner of the image. Two British ensigns are attached to the top of the monument. The letters "BAH" are painted on the north face of the statue.
The image is a postcard, which has been trimmed to show the soldier and statue.
The reverse inscription incorrectly identifies the view facing Water Street. The view faces David Street. The "BAH" inscription is on the north face of the monument.
