A black and white photograph showing a crowd gathered, on 14 August 1905, to watch the laying of the cornerstone for Trinity Methodist Church in Berlin, Ontario. The Church was located on Frederick Street.
Mrs. J.W. German, wife of Reverend J.W. German, officiated the ceremony. Mrs. A.B. Pollock and J.B. Weaver sang a duet at the ceremony.
The completed church was dedicated on Sunday 10 June 1906.
The photograph is a reprint from a negative. The back of the original photograph had the imprint "W.A. Starnman, Berlin" on it and the pencil notation "A. Eby".
Trinity Methodist Church became Trinity United Church on 14 June 1925 when the church union of Congregationalists, Methodists and Presbyterians happened.
