CPL. CLIFFORD DALE
Preston, Nov. 23 - Official word that her husband, Cpl. Clifford Francis Dale was slightly wounded in action, was received yesterday by his wife, Mrs. Phyllis Dale, who resides with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norm. Schoenau, 1254 Hamilton St., Preston. The message from the Director of Records declared that nature of wounds is not immediately known, and that he is in hospital.
Cpl. Dale, 25, was born in Galt, attended public school and Galt Collegiate, and was for some time employed at the former Wragge Shoe Co. in Galt. About a year before his enlistment in August, 1940, with the Dufferin-Haldimand Rifles, he was living in Acton where he was employed. He later transferred to the Essex Scottish Regiment. Going overseas in April, 1943, he saw action in France and Holland and was believed to be serving in Belgium when wounded.
His wife and five-year-old son, Edward, have been residing with Mr. and Mrs. Schoenau since his enlistment.
