After 11 months of active service in England, Cpl. Jim Hodgson arrived at the home of his parents, Pte. and Mrs. Wm. Hodgson, Hespeler street, yesterday for an 18 day furlough. Corporal Hodgson, who reported an uneventful crossing, has remustered for the airforce and will commence training as a pilot in the R.C.A.F. at the conclusion of his furlough. Six members of the Hodgson family, five sons and the father, Pte. William Hodgson, who is a member of the Veterans' Guard, are on active service. Two boys, Sgt. Ernest and Cpl. Fred Hodgson are serving in Italy. Another son, William Hodgson, is stationed on the east coast, and another son, Cpl. John Hodgson is stationed on the west coast.
Cpl. Jim Hodgson reported that he received a number of shipments of cigarets through the local Canadian Legion overseas cigaret fund while on active service in England.
