George R. Holtzhauer
Pte. George Roy Holtzhauer, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Holtzhauer, R.R.1, St. George, is on active service with the 1st Btn. H.L.I. of C. He enlisted June 9, 1940. Before enlisting he was driving a truck for I.K. Martin. He has a brother Wilbert with the R.C.R., a cousin William with the Field Ambulance, and a brother-in-law, Joe Patient, with the R.C.A.S.C. Pte. Holtzhauer had been a member of the the regiment for two years before going on active service when it was mobilized. He was born in Galt and he attended school here. Two uncles served in the last war. He attended Wesley United church.
