Corp. Wilbert Holtzhauer
Corp. Wilbert Holtzhauer was the 10th man to sign up with the Royal Canadian Regiment at London after recruiting started. Corp. Holtzhauer was a member of the H.L.I. of C. Before enlisting he was employed as a mechanic at the City Garage. He was born July 1, 1914, at Neepawa, Man., but came to Galt as a boy and attended Victoria school. He is married, his wife and two sons living in London. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Holtzhauer, R.R No. 1, St. George. Corp. Holtzhauer received a knee injury in the accident that occurred to the troop train in Nova Scotia last December. He was returned at that time to the R. C. R. depot in London to recuperate. Two uncles served in the first Great War. He attended Wesley United church.
