Corporal James Hood
Corporal James Hood enlisted with the Royal Canadian Regiment July 16, 1938, a little more than a year before war was declared. Since going to England he has been promoted from the rank of Lance Corporal to the full rank of Corporal. Born in Sheffield, he is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hood of Sheffield, and a brother of Mrs. E.D. Scott, 24 Blair road, Galt. Corporal Hood attended school at Sheffield, went to Galt Business College and before enlisting was employed at Scott’s Plumbing shop. Corporal Hood started to go overseas with the first division, but sustained a minor injury in a train accident in Canada and so he sailed later with the second division. Corporal Hood was prominent for years in the Scout movement here and later was active as a Rover Scout. He was a member of H.L.I. of C. (Regimental No. P-13260)
