Pte. Albert W. Murdock
Pte. Albert W. Murdock, 26 is reported wounded in action on Feb. 28 in Germany. Details have not yet been forwarded to his wife, the former Ruby Slater of Guelph, now residing in London, or his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Murdock, 340 1/2 King St. W.
Pte. Murdock came to Kitchener with his parents in 1940 and enlisted with the 100th Battery, 4th Light Anti-Aircraft unit, in April, 1941. After a few months training he went overseas, later transferring to an infantry unit when the anti-aircraft unit was disbanded. Following training in England he saw action in Belgium and Holland before entering Germany.
His brother, Lance-Cpl. Russell Murdock went overseas with the 100th Battery two years later, and the brothers went to France on D-day together. Lance-Cpl Murdock later transferred to the Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment and is now serving in Italy.
Pte. Albert was born at Durham, and received his education there and at Strathroy. He and Mrs. Murdock have a four-year old son.
