Sapper Osgoode Lavergne Marr was born on 8 September 1899 in Strathroy, Ontario and later moved to Berlin. He enlisted in the 118th Battalion at the age of 16. Sapper Marr died in action at Arras, France on 21 February 1918, while serving with the railway troop.
His attestation paper for the Canadian Expeditionary Force, dated 15 March 1916, shows his name as: LaVergne Marr.
