This Ontario Gothic farmhouse was built in 1861 by John Tilt. The Tilt family was from the Blair area, but moved to Doon in 1861 to start the Tilt Brick and Tile Factory.
Charles Tilt, John's son, was known for breeding fowl, which he showed at the Royal Winter Fair, the Canadian Exhibition, and many other fairs. Charles died on 29 January 1967.
