Frederick Christian Luft, born 17 February 1897 in Berlin, Ont., enlisted on 17 April 1916 with the 118th Battalion. Fred attended Kitchener Collegiate Institute from 1910 to 1912. He married Emma Hiller in 1921. He died in 1966.
Herbert John Luft was born on 6 Sept 1895 in Berlin, ON. He enlisted on 26 Feb 1918 with the Fourth Infantry Division and transferred to the Machine Gun Corps while in France. He married Irene Steinke, had one child and lived at 175 Waterloo Street in Kitchener, ON. Herbert died in 1953.
Fred and Herbert were sons of Julius Luft, who lived at 28 Spring Street, Berlin, Ont.
