John remained in Galt married in 1920 to Clara Jane Rebbeck and they were buried in Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge. John dying in 1952. Mount View Cemetery: Alcock/ in loving memory of/ John W. Alcock/ Aug. 14, 1892-July 25, 1952/ Clara J. Rebbeck/ Dec. 19, 1889-Sept. 1, 1985/ till the day breaks In this attestation papers he listed his birthplace as Woodford in his marriage record it is listed as Croughton, both in Northampton and very close to each other.

Enlisted January 25, 1915 with 34th Battalion and transferred to the 1st Battalion.
Anglican.
Born August 14, 1892 in England and educated there.
He served as a stretcher bearer for two years and later as a transport driver.
He was wounded May 3, 1917.
