Enlisted January 1917 with 248th Infantry Battalion. Transferred to Canadian Forestry Corps.
Lutheran.
Born at Amelia Island near Fernandina, Florida, U.S.A. on March 19, 1901. Educated at Sullivan Township Grey County Public School.
He is still in service.
While at Sunny dale Camp near London he had a collision with a runaway team and had his arm broken. He was carrying despatches at the time.
