Oscar enlisted on July 4, 1918 in Hamilton, Ontario. He was part of the Royal Canadian Regiment Canadian Engineers. He was a trade carpenter when he enlisted.
Oscar Ball was born Aug. 30, 1883 in Thurnby, Leicestershire, England. He was also a member of the Church of England. He married Isabella Mary Skipton, of Preston, on February 29, 1916, and had a daughter Fanny Bettima who was two-years old when he enlisted.
After serving overseas Pte. Ball returned to his wife and child in Preston.
Oscar Ball died on Feb. 6, 1963 and is buried in Paris, Ontario.
