2nd Lieutenant.
Enlisted June 1916 with the Infantry (Toronto University Training Company). He transferred to the Imperial Army, 296th Cornwall Siege Battery (Royal Garrison Artillery).
Methodist.
Born August 12, 1897 in Wilmot Township, Waterloo County. He was educated at the Public School S.S.No.4 Wilmot, took his matriculation at New Hamburg and went to The Stratford Normal School. Isaac Bean of New Hamburg is his next of Kin.
He was on active service in France during the autumn of 1918 with Rawlinson's 4th Army.
