Becker, Stanley Earl

Stanley Earl Becker was born on November 20, 1898 to Jacob K. Becker and Alice E. Eagle. He had sisters Mildred, his twin Erma, Alice, and younger brothers Wilbert, and Harvey.
In the 1911 census, he is living with his family at 76 Benton Street, Berlin, Ontario, and is employed as a newsboy.
Stanley joined the 118th Battalion in Berlin on December 13th, 1915 where he listed his occupation as a machinist's apprentice, and his religion as Methodist. He was 17 years and 1 month old.
In January, 1916 Stanley crossed into Port Huron, Michigan. He completed a U.S. Draft Registration Card in September, 1918. By 1924 he was living in Wayne, Michigan as an automobile mechanic. In the same year he married Erma Gene Thaler in Kitchener.
In the 1930 U.S. Census, they were still living in Wayne, Michigan, with daughter, Christine, born in 1926. Stanley became a naturalized U.S. citizen in Detroit in August, 1932. By 1940, the family were living in Cuyahoga, Ohio where Stanley was an auto salesman. The Indianapolis City Directories of 1952 to 1960 show Stanley and Erma living there. He also worked as a manager for the White Motor Co.
Stanley died in 1961.
