Enlisted January 4, 1916 with 111st Battalion and transferred to 4th Batt.
Anglican.
Born Jan. 30, 1888 at Montrose, Scotland educated at Montrose and also at Huron College, London, Ontario.
Unmarried.
While acting as a Lewis gunner during military operations in the vicinity of Abancourt on October 1, 1918 he was instantly killed by enemy machine gun fire. He spent several months in hospital with trench feet and rheumatics.
His next of kin is Mrs. Jane Durward, Preston, Ont.
