Sergeant.
Enlisted in August 1914 with the 1st Battalion and transferred to the Instruction Battalion.
Methodist.
He was born and educated in Leeds, Yorkshire, England.
Mrs. Potter, Brett's Lane, Leeds, England is his next of kin.
He left Preston for Valcartier Camp in August 1914 and the same month he went overseas.
He was wounded twice in France, in the right eye by a German bayonet and on another occasion in the head. He was also gassed.
