Carlo Boehmer, born September 25, 1877, of 92 Queen Street North, Kitchener died January 3, 1963 at the age of 85 years. He was the last surviving member of the 1897 championship OHA intermediate team. Later the hockey team was disbarred under the existing amateur rules because the team manager had given each player a gold piece as a victory souvenir.
After studying in Milan he sang opera roles in Italy and in the United States. He returned to Kitchener and joined the family business, A. and C. Boehmer Ltd., paper box manufacturers.
