Soldier Information Cards - World War One

Sapper.
Enlisted Feb. 8, 1917 with 118th Infantry Battalion, North Waterloo. Transferred to 256th Construction before leaving for overseas and to 9th Battalion, Canadian Railway Troop when in France.
Presbyterian.
Born at Strathroy, Ontario, Sept. 8, 1900 and educated at Kitchener Public schools. He enlisted when 16 years and six months old. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Marr, live at 10 King St. E., Kitchener.
He was gassed Sept. 20, 1917 and in Hospital for four weeks. On Feb. 21, 1918 while out gathering firewood for the Battalion he was killed by a Hun dugout caving in. This was in France. He was buried in the Military Cemetery with full military honors and his pals erected a monument over his grave.
