Soldier Information Cards - World War One

Sinclair, Ernest A.
Lance Corporal.
Enlisted January 17, 1915 with the 37th Infantry Battalion and transferred to 75th Battalion.
Methodist.
He was born and educated at Hepworth, Ontario where his mother, Mrs. William Hepworth now lives.
He went to France January 1, 1917 and took part in battles at Vimy Ridge, Avions, Ypres, Lens and Hill 70.
He was wounded at Vimy Ridge but at Hill 70 he was nearly cut to pieces. He received no less than 78 cuts in his body, both legs were broken twice, his left side and shoulder smashed, his left lung blown through and his skull badly jammed. He was also gassed. He was officially dead for eight days.
After this experience he was discharged and is now living at 36 College St., Kitchener.
