Private Louis Peter Steckenreiter was born on April 9, 1884 in Bridgeport, Ontario. He was the son of Nicholas Steckenreiter and Helene Frank.
He enlisted on March 2, 1916 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. At the time of his enlistment, he was a clerk, single and a Christian Scientist. His regimental service number was 782182.
He was killed in action during the Battle of Vimy Ridge on April 10, 1917.
He was buried in the Canadian Cemetery No.2 in Neuville-St. Vaast, France.
