Corporal.
Enlisted March 9, 1916 with 118th Battalion. Transferred to 1st Canadian Battalion.
Lutheran.
Born January 26, 1894 at Elmira and educated at Elmira and Euler Business College.
Single. His next of kin is J.S. Weichel, Elmira Ontario.
Went to England Jan. 1917 and to France May 17, 1917.
Served in trenches from November 1917 to September 1918 when he was wounded.
He lost his right leg in the battle of Arras and won a Distinguished Conduct Medal September 2, 1918.
