Wheatley, William John
Corporal.
Enlisted with C. Company of 71st Battalion while it was stationed in Galt during 1915 and 1916 and went overseas with that unit. Later he transferred to 50th Canadian Infantry Battalion Medical Staff and spent nearly three years in France. He was never wounded but was dangerously ill at The Ontario Military Hospital at Orpington, Kent, England at the close of the war.
He enlisted on September 19, 1915.
He was born in England and his next of kin is Mrs. Fanny Wheatley, 23 Grantham Avenue, Galt, Ontario.
