Private Thomas Oscar Copeland was born September 9th, 1888 in Wellington County. On May 23, 1913 he married Elizabeth Flora from London, Ontario. At the time of his marriage he held the job of insurance agent.
He enlisted with the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on April 17, 1916. Prior to enlisting he was the with army service corps for three years. His regimental number is #751681.
At the time of his enlistment, he and Elizabeth were living at 48 Weber St. W. Berlin, Ontario, and he was employed at the Breithaupt Leather Company. His religion was listed at Church of England and he was age 27 at time of enlistment. He is described as 5'10" brown hair and grey eyes.
His date of death was November 12, 1930 and he is buried in Guelph at Woodlawn Cemetery.
