Harvey Leeroy Burkholder was born in Elmira, Waterloo County, Ontario on October 9th/1897. He was the son of Ezra and Hannah (Elsley). At the time of enlistment he was living at 39 Waterside Ave. Galt, Ontario and his father was listed as next of kin residing at 160 Charon St. Kitchener, Ontario.
Harvey enlisted January 5th 1918 and occupation at time of enlistment was mechanic. He was described at being 5'7" with fair hair and complexion and blue eyes. He had a slight scar on his right cheek. He was the second youngest of eight children. His regimental #3130939 was recorded and assigned to the 1st Depot Battalion W.O.R. His service act letter and number have been recorded as 713380 AC.
Upon returning from the war he married Adell Deering from Stratford Ontario. They married June 11/1924 and his occupation at the time of their marriage was stated letter carrier.
He died June 27th 1990 and was buried at Memory Gardens (Breslau) Section A Woolwich Township plot WA-5464 in the Garden of Christus.
