A black and white photograph of Berlin & Bridgeport
Electric Street Railway cars at King and Foundry (now Ontario) Streets in Berlin, Ontario, taken in June 1905. The streetcars are full of passengers. The streetcar in the foreground has a poster advertising Riverside Park in Bridgeport, Ontario.
The lower left corner of the mat has a white label with the notation "King and Ontario Streets, 1905".
Riverside Park was located at the end of the Berlin and Bridgeport Railway line, and was touted as Berlin's playground.
The large building behind the streetcars, located at the corner of King St. West and Foundry (now Ontario) Streets was home to the Berlin Business College and the offices of the Millar and Simms legal offices (which occupied the second floor of the building).
William D. Best was a photographer in Berlin from 1903 to 1907.
The image is very faded and mounted on a black matboard with worn edges.
