Mr. DeBus was a barber and councillor serving from 1893 to 1894. In 1895 he served as Deputy Reeve.
The handwritten inscription by C.D. "Buller" Pequegnat designating Mr. DeBus as "Grandpa" is most likely mistaken. Reseach shows that this photograph is of Buller's Uncle George DeBus.
Charles Schneuker was a photographer in Berlin, Ontario between 1873-1896 and 1899-1901. He operated a studio in the American Block on King Street.
This photograph is in fair condition: writing in ink on bottom of photo as well as other black marks.
