Kitchener Man Youngest Canadian Army Adjutant
[image] Lieut. J.B. Forbes
Believed to be the youngest adjutant in the Canadian armed forces, 21-year-old Lieut. J. B. Forbes of Kitchener was included in a western field artillery regiment just arrived overseas.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Forbes of Claremount Avenue, he has a brother and sister in Kitchener. Ralph, 18, will start his last year at the K-W Collegiate this fall, while Frances has completed two years at Western University.
Lieut. Forbes left Queen's University in the middle of his course to become and instructor in tactics at Brockville Officers' Training Camp. Later, at the request of officers of his present regiment, he became orderly and then adjustant.
The regiment has been thoroughly drilled in commando tactics. The unit also holds the distinction of being the first to be equipped completely with the Canadian-made 25-pounder guns.
