Edward R. Gambling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gambling, Eagle Street, Preston, enlisted with the 29th Battery in Guelph, on Sept. 11, 1939. He was born in Greenwich, England, October 15, 1906, but lived in Preston practically all his life. Ted is well known in Preston sport circles, having played with a number of teams in Preston softball leagues as a pitcher of considerable ability. Before enlisting he was employed as a shoeworker. Ted’s father served in the last war. His religion is Anglican. Regimental No. A-28112.
