The Breithaupt House, also known as Waldeck, was built by Louis Breithaupt in 1870. The Italianate style home remained within the Breithaupt family until it was demolished in 1965.
Louis Breithaupt established the first tannery in Berlin, Ontario in 1857. He also served as the mayor of Berlin between 1879-1880.
