Private Francisco Carcutta was born in Reggio, Calabria, Italy on November 7, 1877. He resided in Waterloo, and enlisted for war service on December 6, 1915 at the age of 38. He enlisted with the 118th overseas battalion in Berlin, Ontario, and his attestation papers note that he had previously served three years with the Italian army. His service number was 751170. His religious denomination was Roman Catholic. Francisco was married when he enlisted. His wife's name was Mary and they had six children. He died in Kitchener in 1967.
